About your trip

The Swiss Gems: Geneva & the Alps trip is part of our new Hosted by Tribers series. As the name says, these experiences are crafted and led by tribers who open the door to their culture, food, landscapes, and everyday life.

The idea is simple: to get to know a country through the eyes of the people who call it home.

Get ready to experience Switzerland like a Swiss.
We’ll spend 5 days in Geneva, exploring its lakeside charm and vibrant neighborhoods, and then finish the journey with 4 unforgettable days in the iconic Swiss Alps.

This trip is intentionally planned for late August, the perfect moment to enjoy European summer without the peak-season crowds. Expect warm days, beautiful weather, and plenty of time outdoors. Our adventure level will be mild to moderate — active, fun, and accessible to all.

All photos featured in this brochure were taken by our local leader, Sam.
Hosted by Tribers is a new travel series by the team behind NomaTribe, known for creating meaningful small-group experiences around the world.

Friday, August 21st – Tuesday, August 25th

During our days in Geneva, we’ll explore the city through long lakeside walks, visits to its most iconic landmarks like the Jet d’Eau, Parc des Bastions, and the Old Town, and catch sunset from one of the best viewpoints at the top of St. Peter’s Cathedral. We’ll swim in the lake, enjoy the easygoing summer atmosphere, and discover the city through the eyes of our local host. We’ll also head out for a breathtaking hike to La Dôle, with panoramic views of Lake Geneva, the French Alps, and Mont Blanc, followed by a traditional fondue lunch at La Barillette. Another highlight will be an afternoon of river tubing or paddling, plus a gorgeous day cycling through the vineyards paired with a local wine tasting.

Day 6-10: The Alps

Wednesday, August 26th -Saturday, August 29th

From Geneva, we’ll head into the Alps and stay in three iconic mountain towns: Zermatt, Oeschinensee, and Lauterbrunnen. We’ll travel on a section of the Glacier Express, visit some of Switzerland’s most beautiful lakes, and enjoy plenty of hiking options. This part of the trip is about being outdoors, moving at an easy pace, and getting to know these mountain areas through simple walks, lake time, cable-car rides, and small town exploring. We’ll also move around using Switzerland’s train and cable-car system, making it easy to reach different viewpoints and lakes. It’s a relaxed way to experience the Alps while staying active and enjoying the landscapes.
